'Nightclub Emergency', was written with the hope of a return to normality following the pandemic. With empty dance floors around the world and dancing and singing banned in many countries, the word ‘emergency’ was not used lightly. The impact of the pandemic on the arts industry has been catastrophic and continues to impact on artists ability to earn an income and present their art to audiences. There has been disillusionment across the arts industry.
‘Nightclub Emergency’ is aimed specifically at the return of a thriving dance and music culture, where new memories can be made on the dance floors of the world.
For everyone at Electrocourt, dance music has always been a treasured genre and some of their best memories were made dancing, celebrating life, experiencing the feel of a crowd and the collective energy that elevates the spirit, is transformative and illuminating.
The hook ‘keep on dancing’ and ‘take back the floor’ are affirmations to keep looking forward and to remain hopeful.
The featured singer on the track is Nina Ferro. Her rich and soulful vocals are reminiscent of Studio 54 disco anthems. Nina has an extensive recording career, with her own projects and song writing, to being featured regularly on film and T.V. projects (‘Dancing with the stars’, ‘Please Like Me’, ‘I am Mother’).
